Integration Solutions and the Vela Integration Adapter (VIA)
Vela Systems integrates with your back office applications like construction management, scheduling, accounting and design systems. The Vela Integration Adapter (VIA) was built to leverage and keep in sync Vela’s field information with the data captured with these systems. For example, the VIA will automatically bring in companies and contacts from your construction management system and then push RFIs from Vela back out into your construction management system (with marked up plans). Overall, the VIA was designed to accomplish the following:
- Reuse – once a VIA is built to integrate with a particular platform, it can be reused
- Speed – integration between Vela and other systems should be an expedient process
- Configuration – allow for easy updates and field mapping if needed
- Interoperability – easily accept integrations with new platforms via an open-API
How it Works
Vela Systems integrates at the Vela server level with your back-office systems. The VIA is installed behind the firewall where your back-office systems reside (or in the hosting facility where your back-office systems are hosted) and communicates with the Vela server over the Internet, using web services.
