Extra Work Order Software
Tracking requests for authorization of extra work from the job site is a challenging and potentially costly process. If extra work requests by subcontractors, vendors or internal work crews are not filled out correctly in the field, incorrect information may be filed in the accounting system. If these requests, sometimes called "slips" or "tickets," are not communicated quickly, financial exposure can increase on projects without any visibility by the corporate stakeholders in the main office. Unfortunately, on most job sites today, this process is completely paper-based.
With Vela Systems Extra Work Order software module, multiple field personnel can file requests for authorization of extra work electronically, including the number of hours, the type and description of the work, and the relevant parties, all verified for the record with electronic signatures. Requests for authorization of extra work are all combined across personnel and job sites for review in the centralized Vela project manager environment. If approved, the requests are then input (either manually or via automated integration) into construction management or accounting back office systems for processing.
