It has been a number of months in the making, but the Verizon Construction video featuring Vela has been released! Verizon is putting a full-court press (it is basketball playoff season) on bringing advances in field devices like iPads and Tablet PCs together with their 4G LTE MiFi cards, like the one in the screen grab from the video, to “revolutionize construction.”

What is a MiFi card? Well, it isn’t much bigger than a few credit cards stuck together and it provides instant wireless access for up to five people for 20’ all around it. Pretty powerful! We see superintendents and other jobsite personnel carrying them in pockets to create mobile Internet hotspots on the jobsite. Now with 4G LTE, those connections can be up to 10x faster than 3G networks. This allows end users to leverage any Internet-connected device or Tablet PCs in the field and instantly access Vela Field Management.
