Tim Curran

Tim Curran, CEO

Prior to joining Vela CEO, Tim served as CEO of Eleven Technology, the leader in next generation mobile field applications for the consumer goods industry. During his tenure, revenues grew 80% annually. Customers included Coca-Cola, Pepsi, P&G, Miller, and Pepperidge Farms. Eleven was venture-backed by Highland Capital Partners and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey and was successfully acquired by Trimble Navigation in April 2006. Prior to Eleven, Tim spent five years as the number two executive of I-many, Inc., an enterprise contract management software company that grew from $6MM to $60MM in sales and went public during his tenure . Tim's roles at I-many included EVP of Sales and Marketing and EVP of Corporate Development. Prior to I-many, Tim spent eight years with Accenture and a year with EMC Corporation. Tim holds a BS degree in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Tom Huntington

Tom Huntington, CFO

Tom brings seventeen years of finance, strategy and technology experience to Vela Systems. Prior to joining Vela Systems, Tom was the Chief Financial Officer of GCi, a software-as-a-service business providing order processing to cable and phone companies. Previously, Tom was a Director of Market Strategy for Motorola's Wireline business where he was responsible for business strategy, new market development, strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Prior to Motorola, Tom performed similar roles as Director of Business Development for Quantum Bridge, a venture-backed provider of fiber-to-the-home systems acquired by Motorola. Prior to Quantum Bridge, Tom held a variety of positions in direct investment and strategy, including three years at Salomon Brothers in New York and Hong Kong. For extracurricular activities, Tom enjoys teaching business. He has taught Pricing Strategies at the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley College and has taught high school entrepreneurship classes through the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Tom holds a MBA with Honors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and a BA degree in Political Science from Brown University.

Josh Kanner

Josh Kanner, VP of Marketing and Business Development

Josh Kanner has focused his career on the development and marketing of innovative technologies. He graduated with honors from Brown University, then worked as a consultant to various heavy industries, helping to market cost and environmentally-preferable process technologies. After a year in Madrid on a Rotary Foundation scholarship to study Total Quality Management at one of Spain's largest construction firms, he then pursued an MBA from the Sloan School at MIT. Upon graduation Josh was hired as the first marketing employee at Emptoris, Inc., a web-based software provider, and assumed responsibility for product management. After assisting with early sales at Motorola and elsewhere, Josh was promoted to develop and manage Emptoris' entire product strategy. During his tenure, Emptoris grew from one to twelve products, from 20 to 200 employees and from 1 to 100 customers, including Heinz, GlaxoSmithKline, and Vodafone. Emptoris became the only privately-held company in its segment to be annually placed in the 'visionary' quadrant by Gartner Research and was selected by IBM and Accenture as their global strategic sourcing platforms over industry “heavyweights” Oracle and SAP. Josh was a 2004 recipient of the prestigious Franz Edelman Award for technology innovation.

Adam Omansky

Adam Omansky, VP of Product Strategy, Co-founder

Adam H. Omansky earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University and was awarded the Charles Goodwin Sands Memorial Silver Medal, the highest thesis medal for exceptional merit in architectural design. Subsequent to the Sands Medal, Adam presented his thesis research, analysis, and design in Advanced Theory Seminars at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Following Cornell, Adam practiced architecture and urban design in Boston. Adam earned a Masters in Design Studies in Project Management with Distinction at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, with coursework at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Real Estate and at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Adam was also a faculty member at the Boston Architectural Center. From 1999 to 2004, Adam and fellow Cornellians expatriated to Budapest to spearhead the creation and successful operation of Formanyelv Architecture and Urban Design, a direct subsidiary of Gresco Investments Ltd., an international real-estate development and investment group. During his tenure abroad, Adam played a critical role in the design and construction administration of the celebrated Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, $100M plus luxury hotel project in a UNESCO-protected Art Nouveau palace. At Formanyelv, Adam managed a broad scope of work, from conceptual design to construction documentation to systems coordination to information technology. During more than a decade of professional experience, Adam has gained an acute understanding of the challenges and risks that face AEC industry and real estate professionals in all phases of project delivery. Currently, Adam applies his diverse domain knowledge, project management expertise, and creative and analytical talents as an innovator and leader at Vela Systems.

Gary Greenberger

Gary Greenberger, VP of Sales

Gary Greenberger joins Vela Systems with 25 years of experience in technology sales. Gary previously served as EVP Americas for CTSpace (formerly Citadon) where he was responsible for the Americas sales and marketing organization until CTSpace’s recent acquisition by The Sword Group. Prior to CTSpace, Gary served as VP of Sales for Constructware where he achieved over 85% sales growth rates annually before the company was successfully sold to Autodesk, Inc. Prior to joining Constructware, he was VP of Sales for CompuCom Systems, Inc., a 1.5 billion dollar system integrator where he managed a 100-plus person sales and support organization that achieved more than $600 million in annual sales. Gary also was general manager of the Atlanta branch of Entex Information Services where he grew revenues from $10 million to $100 million. He holds a B.S. degree in Business Logistics from the College of Business Administration at the Pennsylvania State University.

Frank Tino

Frank Tino, VP of Product Development and Services

Frank Tino brings over 25 years of experience in developing and managing software products and services. In his role as Vice President of Product Development and Services, he is responsible for the design and development of all of the company’s product offerings and for their successful deployment and support. Prior to joining Vela Systems, Frank was Vice President of Engineering for Iron Mountain Digital where he lead a team of 250+ (including 100 offshore) and was responsible for six product lines amounting to $150m in revenue. Prior to joining Iron Mountain, Frank was Vice President of Product for Revenio, a CRM company specializing in dialog marketing. As one of the founding members of Revenio, he built the engineering organization and was also responsible for product management, training, and technical support. Prior to joining Revenio, Frank was the Director of Product Development for Informix’s Data Warehouse division where he was responsible for the rollout of Informix Formation, a high-end data extraction and transformation tool. Frank was also one of the founding members of Engage Technologies, Inc. (a CMGI company). Earlier in his career, Frank held management positions at AT&T and Wang Laboratories. Frank received both a BS degree in Computer Science and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T.
